My wife is switching to tmobile from sprint next month. She has an IPhone 5C and would love to take it over. I asked a rep if he could unlock it so I can travel internationally and he said he unlocked it and  that when I reboot the phone it should be unlocked. Do I have to do something else to make sure its unlocked for use with another carrier?

Thanks

Just because it's unlocked it doesn't mean it will have the correct hardware to use it on every other network. Sprint runs on different bands than T-Mobile and you will need to check if your iPhone has those bands.

I thought there would be much more interest in brand new unlocked iPhones for just $525...

Guess not.

This made me laugh. Thank you!

Wow! This is what I thought I accomplished when I unlocked last summer. Was not too fun landing in Israel with a TMobile SIM in a Sprint phone only to find out that it doesn't work.

Sprint is the worst when it comes to unlocking, they're unpredictable.
