Probably is.. Just wasn't in the mood to start calling places  and running around.
ETA: Just called. Told me $13.99 for 10 lbs.

We had 3-4 of these and packed the ice cream with it and it arrived perfectly after a 3 hr. summer trip. Plus, they are reusable:

we've had peanut butter cup which you've ranked a 10.
There is a (well worthwhile!) higher fee per pint for that particular flavor. Are there any other flavors that cost more, or only peanut butter cup?

we had vanilla fudge brownie on shabbos -- almost tastes milchig after a meat meal! Crunchtastic, lemon meringue and toffee bar are next on my list. butter pecan looks great too.

LOL! I feel so special having a whole DDF thread just for Shannon Road Ice Cream!  Glad to see everybody enjoying it!

The PB Cup, Cheesecake and Butter Pecan are more expensive because of the time involved and the cost of the ingredients to make them (candied pecans are not cheap).  The Toffee Bar and Lemon Meringue are more expensive because we give a donation to fund pediatric cancer research when somebody buys them www.cookiesforkidscancer.org and www.alexslemonade.org

Personally, I think the Peanut Butter Cup is the BEST flavor we make, but I feel so bad eating it because I know all the time involved in making it. We're very particular to keep all nuts and peanuts separate from everything else, so the kitchen needs to be totally cleaned up, then all the time to make the peanut butter cup, then the time to make the ice cream and then clean up everything and anything that came in contact with the peanut butter before we can make any other flavors...  Lets just say, it's close to a full days activity to make that one flavor versus being able to make 5 different flavors in the same time frame on any other day.  But hands down, it's worth it just cause it's so darned delicious.

This can definitely become a national franchise with investors -- similar to Rita's. They went from 50 stores to 600+ stores within a few years (of Jewish ownership!).

This is nothing like Rita's. But they would do very well in the lactose free community and orthodox jews.

The big problem is of course writing out the ingredients and nutrition I assume.

in the case of the nutrition facts, then people can select the 6-8 best flavors and franchise those....  (+ national Hashgocha costs time & money, too...)

Yes, we're working on moving out of the house in the near future which will give us much needed space to expand our operations to be able to provide to the local stores, shipping with dry ice, providing more catering etc.   We'll be keeping our recipe and the way we make everything the same, we'll just be able to be more productive.  Mass production is not our end goal, we'd rather stay small with a delicious product than mass produce another run of the mill pareve ice cream.

I don't see it being a franchise play.
It's an awesome shabbos dessert, but who's going to go to a parve parlor?
