Thanks for doing it the right way, MO :)

    Two other points:

    • They offer 1.5 points per dollar spent anywhere (I wonder if this has anything to do with the value of their miles and/or the fact that it's an Amex card).

    • They have a separate app for expatriates.

Can someone plz post what can be done with 46,000 VA miles? What are they worth?[/list]

I figured we can do this in 3 pages of posts going back and forth or I can summarize all the info in one post...:)

BTW their availability is supposed to be pretty good. I found the above info by searching availability for random dates in January.

BTW, are these rates a sale/promotion, or is this standard?

Unless you can trade the miles with someone for an airline you can use and/or accumulate enough miles for a business/first international ticket.

    Yes:
    Upper Class: 270000 + fuel surcharges/fees
    Premium Economy: 193500 + fuel surcharges/fees
    Economy: 134500 + fuel surcharges/fees

And what other airlines are they connected to?

They're not part of an alliance, but here's their list of partners.

(OT: According to wikipedia, Branson says he'll be forming a fourth alliance, do you guys think this will increase competition, or complicate fragment award travel?)

My mistake, I dont usually dwell on Economy so I didnt really notice that. I know that 90K for UC is standard.

So it's fair to assume that it is a promotional price? Any idea what the regular price is?

Not terribly compelling to pay $600 in fees for an upper class ticket.
Are there any partners that they don't charge a fuel surcharge on?

Funny how ANA will book you in Virgin Upper Class for 63K with no fuel surcharge.  Or of course you can go with CO lie-flat BF for that rate.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.
