UPDATE: I GOT MY STROLLER BACK!!!!!
Some type of miracle!! Probably never happened before with Alitalia.
They likely offered it to the Italians and apparently no-one had a use for it so they decided to just return it.

Great TR. Looking into a Venice trip, so thanks.

BTW, if your in NY area, there's a town Corning, NY that's entirely focused on glass blowing. Great museum there too. And you could take pictures ;D

There's a first for everything  :)
All ends well
They likely offered it to the Italians and apparently no-one had a use for it so they decided to just return it.
Im sure that's what it was
On a side note,  I heard a story once that one time alitalia didn't lose someone's luggage.  You don't have to believe it but it's really true. Alitalia is extremely apologetic about that incident
Heres to a different story about them loosing and then returning! Believe it!
Thanks for the writeup!
Thanx! I'm taking tips from your Hawaii TR for my next TR!

Nice TR!
When I was in Venice about 4 summers ago, our hotel provided us a free private boat to Murano. Was very cool....

Which hotel?  Usually the hotels team up with specific factories and showrooms who want your business so they provide free transport

I don't recall at the moment, but I know that many hotels were doing the same at the time.

Venice
We stayed at the Carnival Palace Hotel.

What type of room did you get? I'm eying  the terrace suite,  but cant figure out if its one open room ( or semi open) or two separate rooms with doors.

I'll be traveling with two kids, and prefer two separate rooms.

I was first put in the deluxe king, which was one very spacious room. I asked to be put on a lower floor and they put me in the superior double.  It was much smaller but being on the ground floor, worked out better for us with a stroller. The terrace suite I believe is very spacious and 2 rooms. Being on the third floor really isn't that big of a deal and if you want, I'm sure the front desk can push the buttons in the elevator for you.  Regardless, any room in that hotel will be a lot nicer and more comfortable than any other hotel in the area.

Based on what everyone has said who stayed in the Jewish quarter for shabbos.

so your your comparing the carnival which is not in the Jewish quarter to one specific hotel in the Jewish quarter?
