Well then I'm glad we lived to tell the tale. I won't advise anyone here what to do; I'm just telling them what we did and didn't do.

I would suggest you wait a few weeks and if you get no flu-like symptoms then you're fine.

Mango was great. It was very cheap, but the airline itself did not feel cheap (ahem, Spirit/Frontier…). Would recommend.

Mango does not charge for the first piece of luggage. Same as Kulula another awesome low-cost there. Would recommend both of them.

Quite a bit more than the $59 a night we paid in VF.

N1 hotel is where we stayed. There was no Protea when we were there. Don’t recall the Malaria pill costs, my friends doctor prescribed it and we shared.

Just FYI- the anti-malaria isn't expensive ($17) but the typhoid vaccine pill is about $100.
