I am so sick over this.

Please go check the wires on your warming trays. Make sure they are not exposed. The connection on mine is not so good - it's going straight in the garbage.

+1, everyone should do that, make sure they have a working smoke+carbon monoxide alarm in every room in the house, and have their mezuzos checked.

Should never know from such tragedy.

This has motivated us to get the windows in our kids room replaced. They don't open easily and we keep procrastinating replacing them.

also, we have one of those "fire-ladders" that can be put out of a second floor window to get to the ground -- but it will only work if we practice using them...
