i am interested in learning how to create a web site (obviously nothing too difficult) can anyone out there recommend a free online program (not like college program) that goes through the basics please

.com is hosted by wordpress and is restricted (no ads, etc.). 
.org is for you to host.

cant seem to download properly. It downloads but in seperate peices. Any sugg?

Joomla isn't a system that will teach you how to design web pages, it's software for running a CMS (content management system), similar to how this forum runs on SMF, a brand of forum software.
