reinstate points
« on: April 01, 2015, 02:30:20 PM »
hi. I paid my American express card late in January and February. I forfeited 11000 points as a result. My question is, does it make sense to pay $70.00 to get those points reinstated?

Absolutely, 11k are worth more than .6 cents each. However, if you have most of the points in one month and just a few points the other month, it might not be worth it for the month with 1-2k points.

Also, Amex might be willing to waive the fee as a courtesy, you should call and explain why you're late and see what they say.
