Marlboro Ranch in Montana
« on: March 31, 2015, 01:56:07 PM »
Howdy guys,

First post here and I never read here much so I hope I'm not going against any rules or standard etiquette.

I got invited and accepted to join the Marlboro Unlimited promotion at the Marlboro Crazy Mountain Ranch in Montana (http://www.crazymountainranch.info/).

I almost had to cancel because they said they can't provide Kosher food but they called me back a day later that they were able to get Kosher food for me (maybe from the Chabad Rabbi in Bozeman?) so I'm really excited to be going.

Everything for this trip is paid for by Marlboro, including luggage (they even send you a gift card to pay for taking the luggage on the flight), flights, open bar, activities, a check to cover the extra taxes that this trip will cost and a whole bunch of gifts.

Has anyone here ever gone to the ranch (it's invite only, cash or points can't get you in there)? If yes, how was your experience there? Please provide as much info as you can.

Thanks!

I was signed up on their email list for years and now out of the blue they notified me that I won.

They actually also have on their site some kind of game where you can win this trip instantly.

They have a bunch of winter groups and some summer groups and it's hundred people on each group so I guess a lot of people end up going.

You have to be a smoker over 21 years old to be eligible.

They can't legally do too much marketing for their cigarettes because they can't target young people so they came up a few years back with this idea of giving people the time of their life so they get loyal to Marlboro and only smoke this brand and they tell all their friends and family how good it is.

Cool some of these Montana/Wyoming ranches are IMO way better than beach trips (and more expensive too). Look at TA and check the ratings before you go.

TA as in Trip Advisor? They don't have much about this ranch as it's a private ranch owned and operated by Marlboro.

There are a bunch of reviews all over the web about this place from people that went there. I'm looking more for a Jewish review. Jews have different issues than non-Jews when going to such places (for example Kosher food).

Yes Trip Advisor.
I hear you but I've been to many places where I couldn't get any Jewish reviews. Jews are always the must adventurous types (some good reasons, some not such good reasons). Just pack a cooler with food from home or the nearest big city and you'll be fine.
Just checked it out and it looks amazing. Just stop asking questions and get on that plane.

How do they know if you're a smoker btw (besides for after you get there)?

How do they know that you actually read the terms and conditions? They don't. They only know what you tell them.

Yes, but once we land they take us from there and we're on their schedule so I can't go out there to get food.

I got you. So bring along food (though you can't have ice in the cooler IME [meaning when you check in your bags] so the food will have to stay out for a while).

I don't think they allow smoking indoors there.

Ok now, I don't read here too often so you'll have to explain what a TR is...
