im not at all familiar with award points as I have never done this before. would it make sense to transfer my 50k points from opening a charge card to delta if i want to use it to fly to uman? or are there better ways to transfer it to get there?

I don't think you'd get preferred (less miles) availability during RH, maybe someone who knows more can weigh in on whether DL opens availability later on. You're probably looking to fly into Kiev (airport code KBP), from which it's a two hour drive. I dunno if you've seen, there's an Uman RH trip report from Admin Eli.

Delta.com for flights on Delta metal. You probably should call up for any partner availability and i believe they allow you to put the reservation on hold for a few days until you get the miles into the account.

+1, Though it looks like they have (some?) partner flights on Delta.com

It also looks like (for the right dates) you can have an award ticket for as little as 60k Delta + ~$200 in fuel surcharges/fees. Look out, there are some 60k options with 2 connections in Europe.

No. You don't get EQM/MQM for status matches.

I just had a transfer done for someone and signed up for both promos. We transfered 80K and the transfer went through instantly with a total deposit of 144K miles.
So the 50% and the 30% both posted instantly.
