when i looked at the promotions i have signed up for, it shows the 30% and 50%.
i clicked on the 30% first (but thats bec it was the wrong link on dansdeals)
however i did not recieve the 30% bonus yet.

it was worth making the transfer bec i had to use the miles today to make a flight after my original was cancelled and the rest were totally full

From reading around on the web, it seems that you have to first sign up for both offers and then wait a day or two for the offers to be in your account. Only after your account is showing both offers are valid, should you transfer the amex points. If you do it before the 30% offer is showing you will not get them. So I think I may have blew it on the 30%. Hope this helps others!

On the transfer that I did, I registered for both promos today and when I checked a little before transfer the 30% promo wasnt showing in my account yet but I dont know for sure if it did show up at the actual time of transfer (it shows now). As I reported both bonuses posted instantly.

back to the uman question - can someone guide me exactly where and how to check for availability? how do I work with alliances? Im sure there is a guide for beginners somewhere...just dont evenknow where to start!

Delta is part of the Skyteam alliance. Your best bet is to call Delta directly for availability on their partner airlines. Their website is not the most reliable... You should be able to put an itinerary on hold if they find something that works for you that will get you a few days to transfer the points.

Correct, you can use Delta for partners as well.
You can try checking on Delta.com first to see if they have availability on Delta and if you do you can definitely book that, but when you call you will possibly hear more options including all their partners that may be a better option than what you see online.

The 30% can take up to a few days.

I did this all within the last hour but im starting to get nervous becuz the 30% bonus isnt listed in my delta bonus status either, can that also take a few days to post? 50K MR to only 75K sky pesos would be a tragedy!

None of the online searches of the skyteam partners have good searches + most agents on the phone have no idea about geography, so let me suggest you do the following:

Go on www.kayak.com and do a search on the date you want to travel, and use the filter on the left hand side to display only skyteam flights, or alternatively you can go to www.skyteam.com and search for flights.

You might be surprised at the combinations suggested.

You then call the airline, and with your suggestions and help, I hope you will be on your way.

Like I sais earlier, if the 30% wasn't showing at the time you transferred on your delta account, you most probably won't be getting it. The best thing to do, for those who still can, is to sign up for both offers, then wait for 2-3 days until the both offers are showing, and only then to transfer the miles. Good Luck to All

I think you're mistaken, many reports online have the 30% posting after the transfer (within 24 hours).
