No matter the Print that word is not from Rashi. It sounds much more like a cushion.

The Yiddish is definitely not from Rashi, but as you correctly state, whether a saddle, a cushion, or something else that is usually mounted on a camel, my question isn't answered.

The Eben Ezra seems to be the only one to (possibly) address this by stating that Rochel wasn't in the tent. I'm not sure everyone agrees.

A brief unscientific survey in Shul today seemed to have initial results at about 60/40 leaning towards being on top of the camel. Following some of my questioning some people changed their mind and it was more evenly split.


ETA: While the Yiddish isn't from Rashi, the Old French word is and seems to translate as saddle or pack saddle.
