does anyone know why R Avi Shafran stopped writing in the Hamodia? He wrote for his last article something like : due to the current crisis (I assume was referring to coronavirus) I will no longer be writing for Hamodia but will still write articles... and he gave printed an email to msg if we want his weekly column.
why'd he stop?
EDIT: also someone recently posted an article from him in the Forward. has he always written in the forward? am i mistaken to believe the forward isnt a religious minded paper (honestly i may be wrong, perhaps thinking of a different newspaper..)

(as a side note, the photo in the article above isnt the best vetted picture especially for avi shafran ( got some clear expletive language there..)

Really a shame he stopped writing in Hamodia, I really liked his stuff. The note sounded a little sketchy probably more like budget cuts or they wanted to get rid of him to open space for a women or something

I would be shocked to know it had to do with money.
I thought he was a perfect mold for Hamodia standards- now that I think about it, he did usually play devils advocate in politics, (meaning less conservative than many frum people would like) but I thought he did it in a very professional and weighed way. Maybe Hamodia got too much hate mail? this just got me thinking..

That would be difficult to make from a design perspective. Would they be openable? The where would the sides go when it closes all the way?

I wouldn't need it to close. I'm thinking like a cardboard box but with those metal hooks on the side. I would search but no idea what to search for! The problem with the ones I posted is that it's annoying to put papers in because you have to choose one of the four 'slots' where the accordion pops out, otherwise regular size papers don't fit.

I may try to flatten the sides and bottom and then see if that helps. Was just wondering if anyone else went through this and knew of a solution!

Thanks! That second one might work (I actually saw it when looking but chose the accordion one instead since the sides go further up, but looks like that might be better). I"m going to look for a smaller pack since I don't need that many.
