Interestingly, a quick Google search actually seems to say that the NHTSA limited the top speed of speedometers to 85 mph from '79-'81 so that driving at the highway limit would give you the illusion that you're close to your car's maximum. Was repealed after only a couple years.

Using over 5 is extremely uncommon since a machine makes all hair exactly 1 size. So when hair is long enough to start overlapping with each other the top hair should be longer and overlap the hair under it.
Eta: In short any buzz cut over a five is extremely uncommon and just doesn't look good

Does time/energy spent on politics and Kool-Aid on DDF increase the productivity of other tasks or decrease them? That would be the only way to factor in multitasking.

It's soot. Plastics have more of an electrical charge than many other surfaces, so they attract more of the soot in the air, and if they're white plates, it's especially visible. To minimize exposure to soot, keep the plasticware stacked in a closed plastic bag, and pull the ones you need out from the center of the stack.

That's all well and good for the plates, of course, but the owner of the plates, who presumably has a pair of lungs, might start to wonder why there's so much soot in the air. That might lead to a non-random question, which I suppose would need a different thread.
