Anyone else walk in to a Chabad House in the middle of nowhere, see people who are clearly not locals (NY/NJ), and get the urge to ask them their DDF handles?

No.

Never been to one. I have a cousin who has one, but I've never been to his either. Not a shita thing - it just never worked out.

How about a Chabad shul? You can't miss those.

I don't recall ever being in one, but I can't say definitely.

Why would that happen to the second one?
Do you want to play a board game, digitally or in Lakewood NJ? PM me. (Can be asynchronous, i.e. take turns whenever)

Why do some people find the need to list a price for an item they wish to sell in a cryptic way, like based on the listing price or manufacturer's suggested retail price?

"Selling a calculator for 2X-3Y+8^3*XY"

Why can't you just write the plain, simple price?

Where? On DDF, or in e-commerce?

Many manufacturers/distributors require MAP (minimum advertised price)

ETA: oh I see. Strange

Sounds like something someone here has done before.
Small people talk about other people.
Average people talk about things
BIG PEOPLE TALK ABOUT IDEAS.

"Selling my phone for $100,000 OBO"
"But the listed price is $499"
"That's what the OBO is for"

Is this just a way to get around the rule that a price must be posted?

Are Jewish shoes different from other shoes?
Only on DDF does 24/6 mean 24/5/half/half

There needs to be room to hide the fangs  :P

On a serious note - no. Besides for two days a year, Yom Kippur and Tisha B'av, when Jews are forbidden from wearing leather shoes. Then most wear crocks, non-leather sneakers, or tennis shoes.

I ask my wife the same question every time she comes home after shopping for my kids' shoes.

Lol, that is awesome.

There would be a wider selection of shoes in the popular styles within that community than a standard store that has styles that appeal to the broader population. For instance, our kids will each have a pair of "Shabbos shoes" - essentially dress shoes, which aren't nearly as popular outside of the Jewish community. So a "Jewish" shoe store will have a wider selection of kids dress shoes.

Another explanation of what a Jewish shoe store is is the signs, like the one I saw the other day in the clearance section, "No returns. No refunds. No exchanges. Even if your mother doesn't like it."

Quote
In this four-part lecture series, travel writer Bani Amor will guide us through presentations on queering colonial cartography and our historical relationships to place, the enduring legacy of human zoos in travel media and tourism, the objectification of womxn and land in travel culture, and how travel (and anti-travel) can bridge international solidarity movements.

Can someone please
a. translate to English, and
b. enlighten me as to which dunderheads pay actual money for this "course"

Or is this whole thing just a practical joke.
