What's the earliest source for the concept of ushpizin in toras hanigla? (Chazal, medrash reshonim, achronim, not Zohar, rayah mehemna, etc)

I believe the earliest source is zohar chelek gimel daf 103:2
Thanks for the maareh makom, but that doesn't answer his question.
Who do you think you are fooling? You think you are going to pull a quick one on your Creator? Good luck with that.

My point is that zohar is the source of it. Any "nigleh" Sefer will ultimately be quoting it from there

I think he knew that the ultimate source is the ZOhar. The question was at which point it became the mainstream minhag.

Right. Cuz my kids were asking what it's all about and I have no clue.

When did it become "one of the main posters"?

WHy can't the Zohar be an answer to your kids? 3/4 of the minhagim on sukkos are based on kabbalah.

Its becoming the main poster may be simply for people to be able to read off them.

What else do we do on succos based on kabbalah? Kreplach?

I want to see if anyone from the world of nigleh brings down this concept, and how they explain it. (If at all)

I didn't look it up, but Nitey Gavriel usually does a good job on gathering Mekoros.

The way we assmble and wave the minim, Hoshanos. These are all clearly kabbalistic even if mentioned in nigla.

The gemara gives three rational reasons for waving and how. Also they are set up basically al pi halacha and gemoros.
They are not merely "mentioned".

The inyan of Ushpizin is mentioned in Yesod Veshoresh Ho'avodah, Siddur Hayavetz, the Shela Hakadosh, the Ben Ish Chai, the Reishis Chochma etc. etc. But the mekor is definitely the Zohar.

Its multiples of goosebump. Not goose bump. Therefore the first half of the word doesn't change.
I'm not who you think I am.

The multiple is referring to the bumps, not the goose.

So all those bumps are from one goose?
