I think most Americans (at least from teenage years and on) know about 4/20 less so in the frum circles. I've never heard a good explanation as to why today...

My son asked me this morning: why do we make a Siyum for the fast today, but not for any of the other minor fast days? We both rationalize that it probably has something to do with the need to be "on your game" today, and preparation of Pesach, but wondering if there might be some other explanation? Or, maybe people actually do make a Siyum so that they need not fast for that minor fast days.

What's a minor fast day?
17Tammuz, 10 Tevet, Taanit Esther, Fast of Gedalia are all minor fast days.
The "major" ones are YK and 9Av.

The answer to my original question seems, in part, to be addressed in the final paragraph of this article: http://www.chaburas.org/siyum.html.  Seems that fast of bchorim is a different kind of fast, not one of affliction or denial but one of remembrance.

There is a gas station in my neighborhood (Marathon?) that is significantly cheaper than the regulars (Mobile, Shell etc). Is there any reason not to buy there?

There is a suspicion that water etc. Is added to the gas. Practical implication would be that we would run out of gas quicker
