I've been to games of every American sport - they just don't compare. I feel like soccer players themselves are more emotional too, but I don't have enough familiarity with the sport to say that definitively. Although I think they fake emotion more too
Years ago I had a long layover in LON on my way to TLV. First time in LON, I rented a car (no Waze, Google Maps, or even ubiquitous cell phones back in those days) and drove (for the first time on the wrong side) to visit an old ex-neighbor who was retired and living in Wembley. It was a Sunday, and the streets were packed with fans wearing their team colors, painted faces etc. etc. I never saw anything like that before (or after). Made it back to my LHR-TLV flight by the skin of my teeth.
