That can happen with people who consider the US flag to be a racist symbol.https://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/2019/07/02/after-colin-kaepernick-complaint-nike-reportedly-pulls-shoe-with-betsy-ross-flag-design/?noredirect=on&utm_term=.5c1d8fad484f

That’s an overly simplified (and skewed) description.
The specific flag (original version) that was supposed to be on the sneakers was from an era where there were grave injustices, read slavery, done to a segment of the population. He is arguing that that version of American ideals (which is what the flag represents) is offensive to the descendants of those slaves. If you can’t see his point (even if you disagree, being that the ideals that most people associate with the revolutionary era is the fight for individual freedom, which eventually led to the emancipation and with a long passage of time to civil rights) you are not being objective.

The secondary argument is that there are white supremacist today who identify with that specific flag being that it represents to them a time when America was more “pure”. Whether we should let a tiny minority dictate what symbols/items represent is a separate discussion, however you can see where offense can be taken.

ETA: You can appreciate the argument even if you don’t like the messenger, being that he has issues with more contemporary America and the current flag as well. While his general arguments may be more extreme than most are comfortable with, there are definitely some truths in what he is bringing awareness to.

He wanted an example and I gave him one. I am lost with whatever point you are making.
Only on DDF does 24/6 mean 24/5/half/half

So we should ban anything that was created during the era of slavery because that era "represents" slavery?

You need to look at intent. When a 20 year old from the south puts a big confederate flag on his truck what is his intent?

Ok. What was Nike's intent?

Not saying I agree with it, just explaining his point of view why it can be viewed as offensive.

There is obviously a difference between a flag that “everyone” agrees represents America and it’s ideals (the argument is exactly which ones it represents) and some unrelated item that happened to be invented then. (As an aside, many Jews do boycott items that are identifiable as German due to the country’s past indiscretions)
Also, it’s not banning, Nike (a private company) is making a decision that’s (mostly) motivated by profit and brand image.

The issue with German companies is that some of them made it during the war off of Jewish slave labor.

Bosch as an example, collaborated with the nazis, while braun basically shut down.

And I’m sure slave labor had nothing to do with establishing and growing America

Any easy way to lower the temperature of the water in an above ground pool?
Drain some water if needed, and add hose water. That stuff is cold.

Chicago, Cook. It's possible it's no longer that way, I personally don't pay for water, I was remembering from when I did.

Serious question. I'm looking for advice. If you were in my shoes what would you do? I'm 24 for a few months now. Most of my friends are married and honestly I'm lonely. It's come to the point where there is no next stop in the system. There's no more time left to delay and hope something will magically change. I don't know what's going to be with me. It's quite depressing at times.

I'm sure some of you more or less know my beliefs. I don't think getting married to a frum person would be a smart idea. Neither do I think that getting married to someone who comes from a less religious background is a smart idea.

Even if I would find someone who is like minded. All it would do is distract me enough to get through life. Leaving my kids in a situation where there is nothing for them to hold on to.

My dream at one point was to create a community of like minded people and then meet someone there. It still is my dream, but I've mostly given up. I'm too big of a chicken and lack the social skills required to make it happen.

I can get a job. But I don't imagine it to be a fulfilling thing to do all my life.

I just don't know what my next move in life is. But if I don't make a move, I've seen what happens and it's not pretty.

So my question in short is what would your next move be if you were in my place?

Second of all why is everyone so scared of marriage?
