Which Amex card is the best for me? I currently only have chase cards
I created a shortcut (on an external device) to a folder on a computer. Later, I moved that folder, but the shortcut still worked. What kind of hidden record-keeping enables this? (OS is Windows.)
The data itself isn't physically moved on the hard drive, but a pointer to where it is located is updated when you moved the folder. Therefore, the shortcut still points to the location, which hasn't actually changed.
Why are there so many on topic posts from randomex?
I still don't quite understand. The shortcut points to a folder address (that can be seen by examining its properties),not to a physical hard drive location. What is the relationship between physical location and folder address?
@yitzgar Please point out my 2 most recent off-topic posts (or 3 if you want to go the extra mile).
What thread got deleted or moved to JS? My post count dropped.
By how many posts?
Curious if it still works after you reboot.
Yes, it was weeks if not months after the location change.
