I agree to all your points except for the last one... That definitely depends on the kid... However (and this goes to the whole discussion) you can buy the breathing Alarms and then you can get the best of both worlds....
https://www.nichd.nih.gov/sts/about/Pages/faq.aspx#q7

What if my baby rolls onto his or her stomach during sleep? Do I need to put my baby in the back sleep position again if this happens?
No. Rolling over is an important and natural part of your baby's growth. Most babies start rolling over on their own around 4 to 6 months of age. If your baby rolls over on his or her own during sleep, you do not need to turn the baby over onto his or her back. The important thing is that your baby starts every sleep time on his or her back to reduce the risk of SIDS, and that there is no soft, loose bedding in the baby's sleep area.

Do they market these saying it is OK for your baby to sleep on their stomach?
They dont but if you read bt the mines of articles like these http://time.com/3593482/sids-baby-monitors/ it's because they don't want the liability or have to live up to fda standards to say such a thing. (I think that article is exceptionally weak in their logic sequence...)

They don't reduce the risk of SIDS. So you can't have the best of both worlds.

That's not what the article says it's says it hasn't been established that it does...

Back is safer and that is what a parent needs to know. So ask yourself as a parent are you going to do what's best for your child or more convenient for you.
That's debatable, some say back some say stomach, how can you say such a statement? Especially given the facts that's until a few years ago exactly the opposite was suggested.

20 years is more than a few. Who says stomach is safer? Read the faqs and info on the back to sleep site I linked.

That's over simplifying it a bit. At least for me, it wasn't just a convenience to have a child that sleeps well. The amount of stress that my wife and I experienced with the ordeal of putting my first kid to sleep and with her waking in middle of the night were detrimental to our and her health.

Ok fair enough. So I guess the question would then be are you going to do what's best for your child or what is best for you?

That's still oversimplifying. You have to weigh the pros and cons of each situation.
Should all children be nursed until 2 years regardless of the strain it puts on the mother bc its better for the child ?

How about we work on one problem at a time?

:) I'm not trying to resolve or discuss that issue, just using it for ilustrative purposes.
Either way, I'm not saying I'm fully justified in my approach but having a child that doesnt sleep well is not a minor issue. And it doesn't only affect the parents, the child gets affected too.

precisely for you this poll was made. we may hear stories for this and this, but majority/half of people have no problem laying a baby on the stomach

Such a silly statement.
Just because most people don't have problems (and I didn't need a poll to prove that) doesn't mean that the statistics don't say it is significantly more likely to occur with a baby on it's belly
And I can guarantee you that in the broader world the numbers don't look like that. Only we think we are smarter than the doctors (see vaccinations)

ETA: In 1992, the first National Infant Sleep Position (NISP) Household Survey[26] was conducted to determine the usual position in which U.S. mothers placed their babies to sleep: lateral (side), prone (stomach), supine (back), other, or no usual position. According to the 1992 NISP survey, 13.0% of U.S. infants were positioned in the supine position for sleep.[26] According to the 2006 NISP survey 75.7% of infants were positioned in the supine position to sleep.[27]
I'm sure that the numbers are even higher now, 9 years later

My kids are sleeping on their stomach since they were born. It's the same safe as in sleeping on its back!  We all slept in the stomach. It's completely safe
