Earning mileage: Infants (who don't pay for a full ticket) are not eligible to earn miles.

Luggage: Some people report that their friend or parent flew and got lucky. However, it's best to check with the Airline (on their website or calling them), BEFORE packing your suitcases. Here are some helpful links, plus a summary of baggage allowed for lap infants.
Child paying 10% of fare can check a small suitecase up to 10kg/20lb. Child paying 50%+ of adult fare can check standard baggage allowance (one full size suitcase 23kg/50lb) both are +stroller and car seat. One carry on + booster or infant seat + pump and cooler
1 chacked bag at same rate as adults first bag + 1 stroller + 1 car seat. 1 carry-on diaper bag per child is allowed + pump + milk cooler + (stroller??)
1 stroller + 1 carseat. carry on: diaper bag, pump, carry one size stroller, carseat
1 checked bag up to 50lb/23kg. 1 stroller 1 carseat. 1 carry on up to 13lb/6kg or a carry on size stroller
  • BA
1 checked bag 50lbs/23kg + two of the following: stroller,car/booster seat,travel cot,babyack carrier. 1 extra carryon bag.
  • ElAL
1 checked bag 50lb/23kg. 1 stroller or car seat. NO carry on. (its not like their makpid these days any way  :))
[/list]

Proof: Some airlines require proof of age. Rather bring along some kind of proof, and not get stuck because of an gate agent or TSA guard that had a bad day.

Infants are cute.

im not asking if its ethical, im pretty ok with it (if anything, my kid will be much quieter lying in bed in the delta suite with me), i just dont know technically whether the ticket could actually get cancelled when they see the passport.

i've suggested in the past something like that, but for this i think we both want to go together in business, the q is do we need to get a seat for a 25 month old when he will sleep in my bed anyway

You can probably buy 2 seats in Business and 1 in economy and keep the baby with you.

Probably?
Quite scary advice, unless you know that should work.

Himself in economy. His spouse and baby in business.
Then just join them in business. Won't work?

Normally the staff are quite meticulous at not allowing people to upgrade themselves.

Worst case scenario, you have to sit in coach. Nebach

I understood at first that just the baby will be placed in economy.

You can always purchase the ticket for the infant in Y, and both adults in J. I doubt they would make an issue with the child on the parents lap in J besides for takeoff and landing.... and if they do, 1 ADT can be in Y

Booking a delta flight on flying blue. Trying to book infant a seat, and gives full price for ticket. But says on final page an infant will not be given a seat and has to be held in lap… but they want to charge for a full ticket? I saw on TPG that they wont issue tickets for infants. But they allow me to pay for them to have a ticket that they wont issue?

1) is this true that they wont get a seat?

2) can i put the age as 2 years old so that i can get a seat and call to change the age?

I already transferred in the points, you think i have a chance getting chase to refund if i show them that they charge the full rate for a seat and then only at the final page says they wont have a seat even though they allow me to pay for the infant?

technically it may be hard to do this for booking an air france flight, i dont see how to book both business and coach in same booking and cant book a 2 year old in coach separately without an adult. but i like the idea of booking baby and mom in bus and me in coach and moving up. thx all

im pretty sure i did this and it mostly worked but they flagged my ticket and we were hassled at the gate for a while and then had to be the last ones on (could just be a coincidence/bad agents).
