Earning mileage: Infants (who don't pay for a full ticket) are not eligible to earn miles.

Luggage: Some people report that their friend or parent flew and got lucky. However, it's best to check with the Airline (on their website or calling them), BEFORE packing your suitcases. Here are some helpful links:

Proof: Some airlines require proof of age. Rather bring along some kind of proof, and not get stuck because of an gate agent or TSA guard that had a bad day.

Infants are cute.

They can be "linked" but AFAIK it is impossible to combine separate record locators into 1 record locator.

I doubt it.
Where were you flying when this worked for you?

I'm just surprised that it would work like that.
I know CO Insider said that would not work., but I guess YMMV.

I flew US PHL-TLV almost every bag was 75. He checked them all in, after they were checked he made a comment how I should be more careful about the weight (or was that just a hint that I need to diet)

And Chuchem you were right and wrong. They wouldn't give my wife a third bag (well they ended up giving, but officially they don't)
But an infant in lap gets 23kg

Ok I need some opinions. I have an AA award flight for a total of 30k from: CDG-JFK in coach and then months later JFK-LIH also in coach.

Now I will be traveling with an infant and the aircraft that I will be on doesnt seem to have a bassinet option. So if flying with an infant is it worth it to spend the extra 30k for another seat to strap in a car-seat??
