Earning mileage: Infants (who don't pay for a full ticket) are not eligible to earn miles.

Luggage: Some people report that their friend or parent flew and got lucky. However, it's best to check with the Airline (on their website or calling them), BEFORE packing your suitcases. Here are some helpful links, plus a summary of baggage allowed for lap infants.
Child paying 10% of fare can check a small suitecase up to 10kg/20lb. Child paying 50%+ of adult fare can check standard baggage allowance (one full size suitcase 23kg/50lb) both are +stroller and car seat. One carry on + booster or infant seat + pump and cooler
1 chacked bag at same rate as adults first bag + 1 stroller + 1 car seat. 1 carry-on diaper bag per child is allowed + pump + milk cooler + (stroller??)
1 stroller + 1 carseat. carry on: diaper bag, pump, carry one size stroller, carseat
1 checked bag up to 50lb/23kg. 1 stroller 1 carseat. 1 carry on up to 13lb/6kg or a carry on size stroller
  • BA
1 checked bag 50lbs/23kg + two of the following: stroller,car/booster seat,travel cot,babyack carrier. 1 extra carryon bag.
  • ElAL
1 checked bag 50lb/23kg. 1 stroller or car seat. NO carry on. (its not like their makpid these days any way  :))
[/list]

Proof: Some airlines require proof of age. Rather bring along some kind of proof, and not get stuck because of an gate agent or TSA guard that had a bad day.

Infants are cute.

Flying from EWR to FLL on JetBlue with a 6 month old...I bought my daughter a ticket and we plan to use the Doona. Is there anything i need to know about taking a 6 month old on a flight? Do we need a Birth Cert?
I am reading about Foward/rear facing car seats...Is rear facing car seat better?
i used doona in y on jetblue. no issue. wasnt able to wheel doona on since everyones feet are always in the aisle but was able to at deplaning when no one was seated near aisle.

Any way to know exactly how much United will charge for a lap infant on a specific points ticket? UA isn't showing the flight as available for revenue so I have no idea how much the cash ticket is, but it is available on points. Its a one-way on AC metal.

So if I am flying J from NYC-LAX round trip on AA with a lap infant are there any seats I should choose that will make it more comfortable with my infant like more room to place her somewhere with car seat; are the very front seats better or may be last seats in J class?

which brings me to next question will they let me bring car seat for lap infant; because its a j ticket do they give more leeway? or it all depends on gate agent?

I flew JB they didn't and i had the 1st 2 seats, the GA and head stewardess both said that u need a separate seat to fly with car seat.

I would assume front row so u have floor space, they also didn't let me sit with my wife in the same row on the same side (we each held 1 baby)

there is only one extra oxygen mask per row, so only one lap baby per row

good luck with that!!
Brought baby head phones to play music. Toys books nosh.. but nothing is guaranteed lol.

Nothing worked for me and it was one hell of a flight. Literally. I think my entire section was ready to kill me. And we really tried everything- didn’t just sit and watch my kid scream like some other parents on the plane did.
