No, and it won't fit on top. It fits on some planes but likely not that one. They attach trays in the middle empty seat so you can't put anything there but usually only the first couple rows.

I booked tickets for my bro and sil using the UR portal. Alitalia TLV-JFK stopover in Rome. SIL called Alitalia to add their lap child. She was told that the baby was added but that she had to call the booking agent to pay for it.

I just got off the phone with Chase UR. They were on the phone with Alitalia for about 1/2 hour. Airline claims there is no such passenger (baby) and that they are maxed out with lap children (not enough life vests). Claim we'd have to rebook and pay all the fees.UR very helpful and will work on getting us a refund. Problem is, with prayer times and various other arrangements, this was the ONLY flight that worked within budget.

Any experience with this? Is there any way we'll be able to have baby added? TIA

On my last flight on LH it wasn't like that. Just an empty seat. But we were three and they wouldn't let anyone sit in the middle seat for takeoff and landing.

Sorry for the delay. Not sure when your flight is. But since we discovered the issue the issue a few weeks before the flight, it definitely helped. I called just about every department in Alitalia and got nowhere. We were dealing with a few thousand dollars at risk because they didn't offer a free change or refund either. Gave some money to tzedakah and filed a detailed complaint with the DOT. The DOT responded that this does not violate any of their rules but they have forwarded the complaint to the airline and they will respond directly to me. B"H a few weeks later, the airline got back to us that they have agreed to confirm the infant on the flight as they have not found any other alternative.
If you still have some time ahead of your flight, I would suggest that you try the DOT too. (don't forget the donation to tzedakah...)

Had an issue once on JetBlue and ended up googling it and finding it in their manual or something.

We currently use the baby jogger city tour daily, which does not take a car seat.

The cosco scenera next seems to be the most lightweight option; although the idea of shlepping it around does not sound too appealing.. the mountain buggy nano does work with convertible car seats.

Ended up asking them if it was ok to bring car seat since there is empty seat they said no problem as long as approved for airplane, we put it by the window was very helpful.

(You'd need the handle bar for stroller ($20) which needs to be bought separately)
