The rule about INFT limit has nothing to do with bassinets. It's applicable on both long haul and short haul.

Just used 1 in JFK a few weeks ago for toddler. Worked, but was a pain (figured had to try before spending $70 instead of $15).

Gave in and bought the real thing after getting to destination. Have it for the way home (in a few weeks) and will know if i made the right decision (I think I did).

Thinking about it now, it reminds me of when I made the same Cheshbon of justifying the Doona purchase (tried without, and made me hate flying lol).

yep. Definitely. When I flew my 2 yo was wired from his Benadryl and slept for a total of half an hour on the 10.5 hour overnight flight to TLV. Safe to say the entire section was not happy we were on the flight(although we really tried everything possible).

Of course he second we got into the car at the airport he fell right asleep and slept he whole way.

Had the same story this week (maybe a bit better). Baby slept for 2 1/2 hours on a 7 hour flight & woke up in a crazy mood but was out cold as soon as we got out luggage and slept for 3-4 hours

On the way back i booked UA and they made no issue of seating both parents at the bassinet.
