Earning mileage: Infants (who don't pay for a full ticket) are not eligible to earn miles.

Luggage: Some people report that their friend or parent flew and got lucky. However, it's best to check with the Airline (on their website or calling them), BEFORE packing your suitcases. Here are some helpful links:

Proof: Some airlines require proof of age. Rather bring along some kind of proof, and not get stuck because of an gate agent or TSA guard that had a bad day.

Infants are cute.

I saw that reply wasn't sure if baby jars are the same as water bottles...
I never brought glass, but I can tell you, I flew 35 flights or so with my kid before he was 2. I never once had an issue with bottles, water in any container, baby food etc
Memories last forever, make them while you can.

I once brought a chocolate leben for LO at around age 2.  Just required a bit more testing on ME, maybe a swab of the leben.

Yes, I was talking about the 6 oz cup, before the days of the squeeze pouch.

Never had issues, even with one kid and water+juice+Powerade etc. Just extra screening

I booked an Austrian Airlines ticket through UR chase points and i would like to add a lap infant. Chase says they don't have the ability to add an infant and Austrian says it has been been done through the travel agency. I've spoken to multiple agents and supervisors on both sides with no luck. I had done this many times in the past with chase but now they don't let. Anyone have any ideas for me? Thanks

Interesting, I did it through them a couple months ago....
I'm on hold with a similar situation- https://forums.dansdeals.com/index.php?topic=1864.735- will update when I (hopefully) finish
but a travel agent (pm for reccomendation  ;) ) could book it for you and you might be able to attach it to your reservation by calling the airline

It could be since chase switched to expedia they have a different system.
I ended up calling Austrian Airlines israel branch and they were able to add an infant to a travel agents booking no problem. Something that the US line refused to do it. Even after speaking to 3 agent and a supervisor. Different dept different rules.. Maybe try a different service desk.. Good luck.

israelis tend to be looser about rules, when they feel like it. My situation is a little more complicated, I might have tried that, but hopefully, it is almost too late...

I don't think is because of the rules - it's just that they are used to this. Took me 40 minutes to check-in with a baby @ JFK & 5 minutes @ TLV. Reason Elal blocks seats for Babies, while most other airlines don't bother and are just "airport only first come".

It's not limited to babies- any time I have booked through chase (or any third party) I have been told for almost any request, "you need to go through your travel agent"

It seems like only a diaper bag. They do not seem to have a published weight limit

Is there a reason you don't want to use it on the plane?
