Exactly what Dan just said. Better to buy a seat than lap child on extreme business class deals.
Was undecided then. I thought a lap seat I would always be able to book for pennies.

Not sure why you thought that. Its 10% of the fare and you pay for the privilege of holding a baby across the pond instead of the baby having a place to sleep.
