Special Meal on AI

Hi,

Anyone have experience ordering special meals on Air India?

I have an Aeroplan issued award for AI biz on their dreamliner (long haul international flight) and I ordered KSML but there's no confirmation of it, I obtained a Galileo/Worldspan record locator, which shows the request but does not show it confirmed (like it does with the other airlines).
I called AI and they said the request is there but they can't confirm it till check-in!? (by then it will be too late to do anything about it!)
I also attempted to make a retail booking in Sabre and put in the request but 3 days later it still wasn't confirmed!

Can I rely on them having my special meal on board?

I did search for AI, India, Air India, didn't think of posting in the KSML thread...

at any rate, unless a moderator wants to delete this thread, can anyone help me?
