I have a Citi Forward card that I got about 8 years ago along with a Citi Premier card that I got about a yearr ago. I linked both my Thank You Points accounts about half a yr ago. I received an email on Friday stating that 10k of my points will be expiring starting 2017. Reason being on June 4th 2016 the policy for the Citi Forward card became all points earned prior to that day expire in 5 years and all points after that day don't expire. On my account it does not differentiate on my total points which are from my Forward and which are from my Premier. So my question is if I transfer those 10k points will it just take it from the "Premier balance" and the 10k from the "Forward balance" will still expire or not? I was told that Citi Forward points don't have all the lucrative travel transfer partners as the Premier points but to me they are all the same Thank You Points so I do not understand that. Any insight is appreciated..................

https://www.citi.com/credit-cards/credit-card-details/citi.action?ID=citi-thankyou-premier-credit-card 40k offer is back. Can't remember if Dan has links for Citi or not, but worth waiting for him to make a post on the main site if you want to support him (and you might as well!)

Don't know if this is still relevant, but when you transfer out it will automatically take the points with the earliest expiration. IME.

If I'm closing my premier car and I don't have any other TY card where is the best place to transfer my points?
Most value and easiest to deal with expiration policies
TIA

Anyone have any luck getting retention bonuses for this card of late. No matter how many times I call I get told that there is nothing to offer.

nope the number on the back of the card. I don't remember exactly how the conversation went but I told the rep I liked the card but can't pay AF and I want to downgrade. He then offered that.

There is a dedicated thread for this subject. http://forums.dansdeals.com/index.php?topic=1572.0 Looking back using the search word "Premier", it looks like there has been nothing good lately. I was fortunate, but you would probably not qualify it as "of late".
Citi TY Premier: $95 statement credit after $200 spend, 500 bonus TY points in any month that $500 is spent for the next 16 months.

When you applied for this card did you all have existing citibank relationships? And if not, did they ask for more verification

I did. Do you have any indication that it's necessary?

Just to confirm, I can get the bonus again if it's 24 month since my last TY card app, even if i still have a premier card open, correct?
