Thinking of doing Fi now for 2 months.

How can I activate the esim? (I purchased my Pixel 2 from Google Directly)
Can you pause or cancel service easily? (I just need it for 2 months)

I am looking for a budget smartphone that has a massive battery will last me a full day+ with HEAVY usage, I would also like NFC, USB-C, and it needs to be snappy, and it needs to be compatible with sprint CDMA. I found the Zte blade v8 pro that matches this description however it isnt CDMA only GSM so it will not work...
Looking for anything up to $200
Any Recommendations??

Both Moto E4 Plus and LG X Charge are budget phones that have CDMA versions and are supported on Sprint. You're not going to get NFC or USB-C but what are you really using them for anyway?

Well USB C is really nice because it has quick charge capabilities and NFC is nice so I can use google pay or android pay so I dont have to carry around my wallet... Does anyone know of a phone that has all of these?

Project Fi worked great in Germany & Austria. Service was very bad in Italy. Cust Service kept on giving me different stories

Sort of a review; (+ of Sprint's stupidness)

I signed up for Fi using Dan's link - I poped the sim in my old Nexus 5X (didn't even try to use it) for a week. The day of my trip I wanted to move Fi to my P2 & Sprint to N5X. Knowing Sprint has issues reusing Sim Cards I had ordered a week before a new Sim Card from Sprint. I pop my sprint Sim Card in my N5X but I can't get it activated. After some calls with Sprint (They said my Phone was activated on a different account) - I called Fi (3 calls did the trick) they removed my N5X from their system (One claimed I have to cancel service & open a new account.....) & had Sprint remove the P2 from their network. Once I removed the Sprint Sim Card from the P2 it Automatically switched to the e-sim which promoted Fi to activate. Meanwhile on my N5X I wasn't able to get Sprint 4G - so after many calls they decided I need a new sim card (but I had a brand new?)

Germany & Austria - 4G LTE all the time.

Italy - only H - and very spotty and dropped calls. Called Fi Support, and the first agent came back plain we are updating our intl servers - it will work in 3 days.... (He was reading from a memo - whatever). The next call the agent tried to assist with troubleshooting - I asked that if I get disconnected she should call back & of course never did. Called again and the agent asked for some troubleshooting again and said she has to check with level 2 and she will call ack - and of course i'm still waiting. I got an email with a whole lists of steps, I tried to answer whatever possible but they didn't want to assist if I don't answer all.

And then I just came home....... and the fun started to swap back the P2 with N5X. It took 3 calls again to Fi to Unlock the IMEI - even as I said it very clear on the first call (didn't have to guess the issues that will arise) and the agent said very clear that it was done on the first call. What I had with Sprint is too long of a story. A later complaint to Fi got me $20 service credit.

I borrowed my phone now to a sibling, - and she she meanwhile in Poland & Israel she had 4G LTE.

Possibly even better deal than BF:
https://fi.google.com/about/phones/

Basically, buy any of the phones at regular prices and get the full amount back as a 'travel' GC - choices are Airbnb (booooo!), Delta, Hotels.com, and Southwest. Picking through the details now, I'll update if anything important is in there.

ETA: Apparently this is today only (ends 11:59PM PT). Service must stay activated for 120 days.

WHat is the market like for gift cards to airbnb, delta, hotels.com? I'm thinking to buy the top phone for ~1k, start the service for 3 months, and then sell the gift cards. If they sell for say $80% I'd end up with $800 plus a allegedly great phone for only $250 ($200 plus the monthly fee). And if I can find someone who wants to buy my gift cards for even more I will do even better. Am I missing something?

cardcash doesn't buy all of them but from what they buy, the best is Southwest at 77%, or 80% if trading for amazon gift cards

I am not familiar with fi, do these phones work with any US carrier, T Mobile in particular? Do you need a new activation? Is there an extra monthly fee?
Service must stay activated for 120 days? Is this payable to Google other than your carrier plan? Sorry for the ignorance, but I have been an iphone user for too long, not familiar with how this works.
