Anyway, now I was debating whether I should contact CS to switch my order to this deal, but I'm #95 in the chat queue, so not sure that's gonna work. Maybe later tonight.
Okay, so while waiting on the queue I thought this through and realized it's not worth it for the cheaper phones (relative to the BF/CM deal). I paid $149+$99+tax for the 2 phones, and I can cancel right away for no additional cost. If I switched to the current deal, I'd pay $199+$249+tax now, then (20+15)*4-20= $120+tax for service, then get back $450 in travel GC's. That $120+taxes means a very thin margin in getting max value for the GC's - if I cash them out at 75%, that's $446, which means I paid an additional $112+tax. For maybe $20 difference, it's not really worth the hassle.
That became academic though, because they were only offering to just leave the original charges, and then add the amount that I paid ($99+$149) as a Fi credit after the 120 days. That might be worth it if I wanted to truly switch over to Fi, but I'm fine with my $20/month (after taxes) unlimited data on T-Mobile (2.5gb high speed).
Still a pretty good money maker for the higher priced phones, like the Pixels.
