Didn't bother checking DDMS beforehand. Figured you were ignoring Fi after not posting the BF deals they had ;D. This is definitely better, even if you just sell off the GC at market rate, but it's much more involved, both because of the GC and the length of time you have to leave it active.

FWIW, even though you didn't post the BF discounts, I still hunted down your last post (before today) on Fi and used your referral to signup.

Um. I did post the BF deal.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

Lol, you blew my cover. I guess I don't check DDMS often enough. But hey!!! My first HT! I figured there'd be like confetti on the screen the first time I logged on after getting that :). Didn't even notice.

Anyway, now I was debating whether I should contact CS to switch my order to this deal, but I'm #95 in the chat queue, so not sure that's gonna work. Maybe later tonight.

Okay, so while waiting on the queue I thought this through and realized it's not worth it for the cheaper phones (relative to the BF/CM deal). I paid $149+$99+tax for the 2 phones, and I can cancel right away for no additional cost. If I switched to the current deal, I'd pay $199+$249+tax now, then (20+15)*4-20= $120+tax for service, then get back $450 in travel GC's. That $120+taxes means a very thin margin in getting max value for the GC's - if I cash them out at 75%, that's $446, which means I paid an additional $112+tax. For maybe $20 difference, it's not really worth the hassle.

That became academic though, because they were only offering to just leave the original charges, and then add the amount that I paid ($99+$149) as a Fi credit after the 120 days. That might be worth it if I wanted to truly switch over to Fi, but I'm fine with my $20/month (after taxes) unlimited data on T-Mobile (2.5gb high speed).

Still a pretty good money maker for the higher priced phones, like the Pixels.

Ordered. But I didn't see any option to select which gift card I want. Does that come later?

From DDMS:

"After the terms have been satisfied, the customer will receive an email from Google Fi (around 75 – 90 days after device activation) with instructions on how to obtain a gift card from Tango subject to Tango’s terms and conditions. The user can redeem gift card amounts with select travel partners: Airbnb, Delta Air Lines, Hotels.com, and Southwest Airlines. Gift cards may also be subject to the terms of the travel partners."

Anyone know how pausing works relative to canceling? I got the BF/CM deal, so I can cancel right away without losing the deal price, but I figure if there's no downside, might as well just pause it instead. If I activate and pause the same day, will I get charged at all?

That's the 67 cent question.

I thought that for that deal you have to stay on for a month.
I'm not who you think I am.

Wasn't in the terms. I paused right away, got a bill for pennies, and so far they haven't tried to charge the discount, though I guess it could happen later.

Cant pause for more than 7 days, cant cancel for 120

I habe other phones so ill just let it sit and pay minimum for both phones for the 120 days and still come out way ahead

That's interesting... I asked them about, popping in a physical Sim card and toggling between services and was told it would be considered pausing service and would make me ineligible for the promo

Good to know they consider that pausing service.  I woulda guessed it was something you actually had to do on the account

I doubt it's true, but don't risk it based on my skepticism.

For the $200 credits on your account by when does the service has to be activated after you receive your sim card is there any time limit?
