I couldn't get any points flights at all yesterday from lax-lga,  and had the same thing on chol hamoed.

The changes have clearly been made already but so far no Luvmaggedon.  Just some tweaking.  You can see data starting to flow in on the FT thread.

I mean I hope that's all this is. It would be nice to get an announcement, but I'll pass on that if all they did was barely modify a few routes on random dates.

Why would there be an announcement, they already announced what they were going to do.
Price it as they feel like it without tying themselves down to anything specific. For now that means 70-80, but that can change as they feel like it without any further announcements.

Does that mean they can change the terms of earning & using cp anytime without any notice till they become implemted? I am almost there for this ur & am nervous about some change to that program before I earn it..

I don't know what CP has to do with this but AFAIK they can change the CP program anytime anyways (though I can't imagine they wouldn't give some notice).

To my untrained eye, "wanna get away" looks alive and well. Just booked 5,398 + $5.60 for MDW-LGA and added cp for 0 + $5.60 post shavuous.

We’re making a few updates. Rapid Rewards account access and points bookings will be unavailable from about 11:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. (CST). Please call 1-800-435-9792 to book flights using points during this time.
