I often listen to stories from
Stories To Inspire, a great website/organization that cuts stories out of speeches from rabbonim and presents them separately, so a person who likes stories can easily listen to them without having to find them.
I came across this story that blew me away. There are many great stories but this story was told so nonchalantly, almost as though there was nothing so interesting about it. In short, this rabbi, Rabbi Mike Bengio of Chile, had tickets to be on Auroperu Flight 603 with his family but had to miss the flight after his mother fell down the stairs. He also mentions that another frum family missed the flight, but he doesn't expound.

near hits), but I'm posting it here for those who are unfamiliar with the crash.
