Previous tenant uses my address

I  recently moved into a new apartment and the old tenant from over two years ago (who now lives in Israel) still uses my address for all his credit cards and bank accounts. In other words, my address is his US address. Just yesterday he got a new credit card sent over, I'm not sure how he plans on getting it. I think the first card has to be send to the caccount address, but perhaps he can call and ask to resend it to him in Israel.

In any event, I'm not comfortable that he uses my address for his accounts and I don't appreciate all the mail we get from him, any ideas on what I can do about this?

If that doesn't work start returning everything to sender and inform them no such person lives there.

Black out the bar code at the bottom of the envelopes and write something to the effect of "addressee moved, left no forwarding address." Then bring the envelopes to the post office, drop them in a mailbox, or give them back to your carrier. You can also tell your carrier about the problem.

I would call the former tenant and ask him to stop using your address before going this route.

He doesn't need the mail, he just needs an address so he can sign up for more credit cards.

tell him that the next time you get a credit or debit card in the mail that you are going on a shopping spree or that you are going to start posting his account details on the web,


but seriously you should walk the envelopes into a local bank branch and tell them that that person doesn't live there and that you think its fraud, that should stop you from getting the some of the mail, that wont work with all issuers but if you do it once it should trickle down to the other issuers as the banks share fraud data

IDK if filling out a 'change of address' form with the USPS will affect your mail but that might also me an option

It's very simple. He is only doing this because he counts on being able to pick up the mail from you. When he contacts you to get the mail and he hears very clearly that you sent it back and will continue sending it back, he will stop.

Cant you get in contact with the issuers of the cards and tell them that you believe its fraud? Between that and returning the mail to the sender your problems should stop.
