I finished downloading linux and can run a live version off my usb. But I cannot install it completely because I totally screwed up my partitions. Is there a place to tell me how to fix them up, because I dont understand whats, and what needs how much memory (and how to give it back memory if i lost it)
I'm not who you think I am.

Setup doesn't give you the option to repartition?

Yes. But I messed it all up and dont know how to fix it. I repatitioned it wrong and everything is messed up. It for some reason had linux using the whole computer instead of being free memory (all 500gb where under ubuntu)

Why don't you wipe everything and start over? Or are you still trying to dual boot?

Boot into Windows. Click start, and type disk management. Go through the list of partitions and see if you can figure out which ones are needed.

The one that says Ubuntu is clearly linux, anything that is using 0MB can be deleted, sdb5 seems to be something...did you have anything on the computer before you started?

Why don't you start fresh? can you get the hard drive out and connected as an external? just wipe the whole thing and create two normal proper partitions...

I was assuming it was windows just strange that it's taking so much space if he just wiped it.

If you wiped Windows, how will you dual boot?

The partition size doesn't change when you wipe it

Good point
Thanks, it just looks like such a mess I would just start over, it's like trying to clean up a script that was edited by 5 people before you.
