I don't believe that's true for summer months. This fare is in line with others for same time period other than Ukraine or Aeroflot. Plus you get business class going one way. Also, the GYD-JFK route should be updated to Dreamliners soon so business class should be even better.

There prices dont seem to fluctuate for the summer.
Prices are about 350-400$ coach one way.
900-1000$ biz one way.
1800-1900$ biz round trip
your fare is just a combination of one way coach, one way business.
I agree that its a good price but its nothing unusual for them.

BTW from Azerbaijan to Israel they only have coach.

Ok, I guess that makes sense. But disregarding what their fares are for the summer, if you do not fly Ukraine or Aeroflot, you will be paying the same or more for an all-coach itinerary compared to having one segment on business class.

Prices on ELAL and United direct are under 3000 for the summer.
So basically all your getting is a 1/3 discount to fly part of the way in business class with a stopover on a garbage airline instead of flying direct in lie-flat business on a good airline.

Just an update, not related to this post, but there is business class from TLV-GYD as I just flew it.
