Not sure if this is the correct place to ask, but I figured someone would steer me in the correct direction....

I have a wedding in Israel the Thursday night before Purim. My impression is that leaving the US on Wednesday would be pushing my luck - is that right? (Flying out of NY). I would prefer to leave Israel on Saturday night, but debating staying for purim - what is a bigger factor in my ticket cost - length of stay or the day of week I leave? Will it be significantly cheaper to leave on Tuesday night?
If you leave Wednesday and there are any delays, you risk missing the wedding..

Are you looking at Y or J? Nonstop or stopover? Check price on Matrix and can look at all the times, dates you're thinking of to decide.
Nonstop LY Y flights all seem to be in the same $950-$1050 range for leaving Tuesday or Wednesday, and coming back either Saturday night or Wednesday/Thursday

Which miles should I accumulate to go to Europe (France, Italy, Spain, Greece) in August? Business class not necessary.

Cash fares are very low. Sub $300 fares are common to France and Spain. Combine with a CC that gives you free baggage on selected airline.

Most airline CC won't give you free luggage on an international basic economy ticket

Such as? Only AA doesn't, as far as I know.

My personal experience was indeed with AA but I was under the impression that they all do that but I may be wrong

I am going to PTY in Jan, flying there with UA (I have a United explorer card) and back with AA (I have their citi AAdvantage card) both tickets were booked with airline points. Do I getting free luggage for them?

UA used to give you free luggage if you showed your card at checkin.

May I ask how you got enough miles for multiple tickets using UA card? I just signed up with a 40k bonus, which is good enough for only 2 x 1 tickets.

The world explodes.

I mean is it a big deal? Is it possible to change it?
