Im looking to book With KLM Miles Business Class on Virgin Atlantic (LHR to JFK) for 1 Adult and 1 12 y/o but it does not let me book for a minor in Business class, can I just put in a different DOB for the child? and do i need to change it at any point?

what is the consensus on whether to get travel insurance for a family trip to eretz yisroel? say it's a 3 week trip, family of 8. what does it depend on? any insight would be helpful. (such as-when my daughter's school required it for her trip, i found the best rates at berkshire hathaway)

The online checkin had issues and I needed to checkin with Additional Services at the airport.

It's because of no carry ons in basic economy I think.

Anyone know a way around this? Is there perhaps a way to check bags then cancel it once you have a boarding pass? Don't have plans to fly UA Basic anytime soon but will try to remember and try it next time I do - Can anyone advise on the value of Data Points - is $35 checked bag fee a fair valuation for one? 

Or if someone has United explorer and up does listing a bag enable you to get a BP even if you don't actually have one - does that create issues?

Iirc, having a card will allow to check in online, even without checking in bags, and so will having an infant on the reservation.

Not in my past experience (unless it was specific to INTL?):

Twice in the last 6 months I've flown UA between CA and US with a lap infant, and both times the online checkin had issues and I needed to checkin with Additional Services at the airport.

The rest of us were able to do online check in.

Definitely not a normal benefit, but some agents might make an exception.
I once got @jj1000 bumped to the top of a standby list on a flight I wasn't on, but that was at the gate.
