If he does it once, then no I doubt it has an impact. If he makes a habit of it, and starts to create a pattern, then I would start to be more worried if I were him.

I was looking for a random flight, and found it on Google Flights for $264 in First. Went to book, and Amex and Chase have the same flight at $528 and $544 respectively. AA themselves, as well as Cap1, price out at $264. What gives? I made sure that the space was legit and went all the way to the booking page but it didn't error out or hike the price, as google will do sometime when they are displaying outdated info.

it's only effecting 2 AA flights on that route, but no others that I noticed.

BTW google flights outdated prices sometimes go through to a page on the airlines website for the discounted rate even though  the flight can not be searched on the website at the old price

If I remember correctly both concourses are connected airside so you should not need to worry about that
The main question is the on time performance especially with AA

Only if they are at fault for the delay remember they always try to claim weather etc

The app says a specific reason like crew staffing the gate agent says weather
You show them the app and they say ok here is your voucher just don't show others

So to save $ I booked delta jfk-tlv this summer with basic economy. I figured I'd sign up for a delta Amex gold to cover the luggage. What I didn't realize was that the return is virgin Atlantic (there was a little asterisk next to the word delta, indicating that the flight was being operated by Virgin Atlantic, but I didn't realize that was important.) so my luggage won't be free on the return. Any ideas or suggestions? It's a party of 8, so it adds up to a lot....

If I recall correctly if you log into your booking they usually have offers to upsell to economy delight (their extra legroom) even if you are on basic if this option is may be cheaper
Additionally if they offer an upsell to their premium that includes 2 bags per person
Just make sure you upgrade the amount needed for the bags not the whole reservation (good luck who gets which seat

IMHO customs for foreign citizens takes longer then that. + you need to get your bag and recheck it.

You can always book and try and revise just that leg, and if it does not give you any options you can cancel within 24hr.

Did you book direct with Delta? I think (not sure) that if its a Delta marketed flight (there is a delta flight number attached to the flight even though its operated by VA) then you should be entitled to a bag. Not sure, but I think that’s never been an issue for me, before having status.
