When did domestic one way tickets go back to being more expensive than roundtrip? I thought they did away with that several years ago... I just was booking one way from CLE to EWR on United and the one way price was $414, but if I added a return in august the price dropped to $283. This scenario repeated itself multiple times in the past two weeks.
Did adding the Return drop the whole thing / open up to Basic Economy?
And only regular Economy available on the one way price?
Not just basic. Just checked. Regular economy with UA Domestic is now working similar to International.
Lower Fare Classes and Discounted pricing on round trips
(and I'm avoiding looking at Basic, although that may be available and cheaper too)
@Dan this can likely use a DDMS post if wasn't covered recently already.
Example CLE-EWR (UA342 8/2 - UA588 8/15).
RT prices T+K = $264.80.
OW prices outbound into E for $433.90 and return OW into K for $113.90 = $547.90
SFO-BWI (UA1722 8/10 - UA1387 9/18)
RT prices T+W = $588.80.
OW prices outbound into H for $453.90 and return OW into W for $318.90 = $772.80.
