If parents have TSA pre / global entry, do the kids / infants get to go with them in fast track? It do I have to make a separate one for the kids?
(Assuming CCs that give you free GE only with for one person...)

For tsa pre, every time I've gone with my kids (they're small) I've just shown mine and my wife's and they let us all through.

For global entry, ymmv

Your experience matches the rules.
Tsa pre= kids go thru with parents who are precheck (it's written on the tsa website)
GE= each person needs their own.

how many trips will he make in between his first leg and final leg?
I think it is possible he will stay in Israel from Elul 1 until after Shavuot. He may visit Europe in that time period but will probably not return to US.

The BP

Many people have a misconception that showing them they're GE ID card will help. They actually couldn't care less what type of cards you have. If it doesn't say it on your BP, they're not going to let you into the line.

IYH, my son will be spending the next academic year studying at a yeshiva in Israel.
Thinking about revenue ticket.  If I book him one-way BOS-TLV, it's about $685; round-trip, $950.
Thing is, the calendar for the return only goes out ~330 days, and he may be there longer than that.
I understand that I can pay the change fee of ~$300 at some later date, but that kind of defeats the purpose of buying the RT now.
Alternatively, if the airline changes the flight schedule by more than a few minutes, I'm optimistic that I can petition them to change the date to something that will be preferable.
The question is, what's the chance of a such a schedule change between now and say March 2017, and do you think that chance varies by airline?
We're thinking of AC and LX, maybe UA.
(I realize this question is asking for opinion/guesstimate, but you all have lots of experience to inform those opinions.)

BUMP, now with my focused question bolded.  ;)

If you are buying a revenue ticket, a TA may be able to help you extend the return, as noted here.Travel Agent Market Research - Your thoughts on 21st century Agents.

I just got global entry. How can I add the number to an existing reservation? I can't find the option.

So I got GE for myself, my wife, and my 11 month old kid. I just tried using it, and when I put on my kids passport, it said no biometrics on file. Any idea what this means? I paid the $100, took her to the meeting and have a GE card for her. What exactly are they charging, and giving GE to infants for if they can't take their fingerprints?!?

Aren't babies made that no fingerprints are needed?

Have the same question, used GE last week first time for baby, and was very upset about it.

Why? Will I not get TSA Pre when flying BA from JFK terminal 7?
