I know that legally they only have to cancel if you book more than 7 days prior. I think in practice many airlines still let you cancel even if it's within 7 days (or even 24hrs). Can anyone confirm which airlines allow this?
INM you can cancel Delta and United even if it's booked within 24 hours of the flight.

Booked ORD-BCN on delta a little while ago for $400 RT. Obviously booked in economy due to price difference.  Is there any way to upgrade for less than $2600 pp (2 of us) or with points? I also did not have an option to add a infant in arms at time of reservation, and now they want $180 to add, any way to get them to base infant price off my ticket price? TIA

Question about flying "standby" on an earlier flight vs. being "standby" on a later flight if I miss the one on which I'm ticketed:

My son is arriving into CAI at from AUH on EY at 11:30AM.

He will need to connect (separate ticket) to RJ, flying CAI-AMM-TLV.
RJ has two flights departing CAI, either 1:45PM or 8:00PM.
Should he book the 1:45PM, and presume that he can fly "standby" on the 8:00PM flight if he misses the 1:45PM?
Or should he book the 8:00PM flight, and ask to fly "standby" on the 1:45PM flight if he can get himself through immigration in time?

I'm leaning toward booking the 1:45PM.  Thoughts?

If B6 is your preferred airline on Amex, and if you have Biz Plat, you could book there for 23k, and then get half back, so that's 11,500, better than straight up on B6.
