Which airline are you flying into Boston with? If JetBlue you may be able to underline baggage all the way through.

Thanks - was on United so they couldn't.  Ended up renting a car and loading it with the luggage for the day.  And on the flight to Israel, El Al only lost 2 of our bags - lowest number of bags they've ever lost for us!

AS MVP 75k gets two free bags when flying AA. 50 or 70lbs? It isn't listed anywhere.

Any tips for flying with dry ice? Anything I should know? Carry-on and/or checked bags.
SAA had a limit (think it was 5kg) for dry ice.

Can DL gift cards be used to purchase an upgrade?

I would like to book an American airlines flight using miles sooner than 21 days in advance, which would regularly incur a fee. However; if I book my same flight itinerary for after the 21 days (eliminating the fee) and then call in and request to change the flight to sooner than 21 days (which is free of charge with American as long as it is the the same route) would they charge me the fee?

Yes, unless you have status with them.

What about booking the flight with BA or AS which don't charge close-in fees?

AA has the flight for 30K each way to Sao Paulo, Brazil. Does any airline offer a better deal for this route?

AA has the flight for 30K from the east coast to Sao Paulo, Brazil. Does any airline offer a better deal for this route?

Update: agent had no idea AS 75k gets anything, so I pulled it up on AA.com. She then let me check 3 bags, one of which was grossly overweight, due to "executive platinum".

So basically, I have no answer to my question, but at least it worked out well.

Thats what we call YMMV.

Heading to the airport, you have no clue if you'll be forced to shell out hundreds of dollars for your bags, or they'll pass for free with a smile...

Indeed. This morning at XNA the agent didn't even bat an eyelash when I tried check in three bags, she just put it through.

She did point out however that one bag was 61lbs and asked if I'm flying F. I said no, but "I'm executive platinum or something like that". She said "oh" and that was that.

Always nice when YMMV works out in your favor.

Moving to Israel tomorrow.  Flying into Boston in the morning (with DW and 3 kiddos) on United, and leave on El Al in the evening.  Lots of bags.  Not sure El Al desk will even be open when we land (around 11am), for a 9pm flight.  Recommendations about what to do with our bags, given we want to head into the city for the day?
