Hi,
Would UA cause me a problem, if I take overweight suitcases if I am taking less than the amount of osuitcases allotted to me? Would really not like to take so many suitcases. Large family kn”h.
Indeed, this will be a problem. While to you the result would be that you'd be taking the same amount of stuff, UA will follow the rules and charge you for overweight luggage. In the past, I have moved things between suitcases due to the need that they be under the weight limit.

You are better off bringing more suitcases, or be prepared to pay the overage.

Thanks

Was thinking also of ua since will earn a lot of miles. What would be  points earned on elal?
If you're looking for points, then UA will give you better flexibility. Just he sure to book the UA90/91 pair to get Polaris business class.

ElAl matmid points are a joke.

Flying AA first class to Miami. They have breakfast but claim that kosher is not an option. Is there a way to put in a special request?
Where are you flying from? AA domestic does not offer special meals outside of select routes (mostly Transcontinental)

Flying on aa with my wife and child on 2 different itineraries. (Booked through 2 different 3rd parties). Was told the itineraries cannot be merged. Will we all be able to check free luggage if just one of us has the Citi aa plat? Was told by a phone rep only the cardholder.

Phone rep is correct, you will only get free bags on your itinerary as they can't be merged. Is the free bag only 1 per passenger?

Yes. Didn't realize when I booked it, and ended up booking the other two together. I just assumed they could all be merged

If I wanted to surprise someone who is landing at EWR where can i "catch" them before they take a taxi? Since they have no luggage I cant wait by baggage claim and afraid they might go upstairs directly to the taxi spot from inside the airport and Ill miss them??

Or buy a refundable ticket to get through security and wait outside the gate.
