So what do I do about checking in? I can’t check in online without the plus 1’s passport info. Should I ask them for it or no need to check in online (carry-on only).
why don’t you make it up?

Booking Delta V fare - how does that translate to Virgin Atlantic (V fare by VA is their highest economy ticket, while by DL it’s their deeply discounted ticket)

Thnx!

What are you trying to figure out? Mileage earnings?

It doesn’t need to translate, just goes by DL (if that’s how it’s booked).

Friend had star gold on united ewr-tlv.
Said on the app he was entitled to 2x 70 pounds, for both him and his wife, even though officially it's only 2x 50.
They decided to risk it and got charged $800!! No amount of arguing helped.
What now? (Besides a dispute, of course.)

You sure they weren’t looking at UA Gold (which gets 2x 70) instead of *A Gold (which gets 2x 50)?

Anyways, if they knew they were only *A Gold, and they knew that that only came with 2x 50, and were ready to “risk it”, on what basis are they planning to dispute?

Positive.
The basis that they have a screenshot clearly stating 2x 70 each.

That should work for a dispute but the question is how UA will react...
They should first try to talk/write to UA and show them the screenshot.

Just out of curiosity, can you post the screenshot?

Was that stored directly in the reservation / check-in page somewhere? Going through the "Checked baggage charges" tool (online / app) clearly states 2x 50 for *G.

you are correct about the official rule of 50 lb but I've personally seen a few reservations since January that stated even by regular star G 2 * 70 lb.

I purchased a ticket on AC last week and now I see a price drop. What’s the best way to go about it?

TIA

How much lower?

Likely just move on and forget about it.

Ultimately you purchased your tickets at a price that was acceptable to you. I know that it sucks to see the same flights on offer for less now but that is the nature of dynamic pricing.

Look at it from the other perspective. If the flights had gone up by $x per person would you want the airline coming back to you to pay more? Doubt it.

Do AA award tickets have 24h cancellation policy or non refundable because they allow 5 day award holds?

Agree. Stinks but just move on.
Only caveat is to watch for a schedule change. If it changes, see if you can cancel for full refund and rebook at new/lower rate.  I was successful with LY for about $125 * two tickets last summer.

However, I had to file a dispute with Amex before LY relented and refunded the original tickets.
