Any chance they would force me to check it in?
United should be the last airline to do that ;)

I’m pretty sure the one thing a lot of airlines have in common is that they don’t learn from their mistakes. Amirite?

They shouldn't force you to check in the guitar (according to the terms on united.com) but you never know what a gate agent or a FA will insist on.
Thanks

Would United allow a guitar in a hard case onto the flight as carry on baggage?
If yes,Would it be counted as carry on bag or as personal item?
Any difference if traveler has MPE or Club card?

Sounds like i would need to board early enough to secure overhead space
I can't imagine a guitar case would fit in the over head anyway - it's too long.  A nice flight attendant would put it in the closet with the coats.  Maybe you should ask as you board.

If they won’t do that, what options will i have?

Most cases will fit in an empty overhead bin. Sometimes they can put it behind the last seat.

Bring it.  Board as early as your ticket allows.  Ask the flight attendant if there's a better place to store it, or just in the overhead.  They may help, or if not, put it in the bin.

Yes. Officially it would be counted as a carry on but I've done it with another carry on suitcase, YMMV.
Credit card won't help.

I would've thought this was obvious but I imagine it really depends firstly on the aircraft size and if there is physically somewhere to store it. I'm sure if you're flying an EMB-140 they won't let it on with you. In a case where it would barely fit, it would probably depends on the agents mood if they would make you gate check it.

On AA 763, are 2A and 2J the best seats as far as legroom or are they all the same?

Just flew this week. All seemed the same. Even number seats inside by window on J side. Didnt check A side.

Yes. Flew 2A was a decent product, plenty more room vs. The other seats.

You sure they weren’t looking at UA Gold (which gets 2x 70) instead of *A Gold (which gets 2x 50)?

Anyways, if they knew they were only *A Gold, and they knew that that only came with 2x 50, and were ready to “risk it”, on what basis are they planning to dispute?
I'm looking at a booking right now in the app, pax has *G and it says 2x 70 lb.

Would I be able to pass through security with water for a baby, and how much?

Yes. Any amount. I've brought full water bottles multiple times, and all they do is a swab test. This was typically in the precheck line though.
