Definitely a possibility

I've seen it happen. Not worth the risk.

United does allow you to book seats for basic economy by paying a small fee and is still much more reasonable than regular economy.

Delta basic economy says no advance seat assignment https://www.delta.com/content/www/en_US/traveling-with-us/onboard-experience/basic-economy.html

But what if you are traveling with kids? They will split up a family?
IME they won't if you have kids, but no guarantee

From my experience of flying many many times with multiple airlines that I did not pay for the seat assignments for they have put us together. On the few times we weren’t put all together either they switched our seats by the gate or the flight attendants asked someone to move on the plane but that only happened once. It is in the airlines best interest not having small children sit without their parents.

Thanks for confirming. With the Basic Economy fare, advanced seating is available without fee for children under 5 years of age and an accompanying adult. Do you have a preference for which adult you would like pre-seated with the child? TLS

Not directly answering your question but last week I flew basic economy with DL CDG-JFK. I had bassinet seats confirmed at the online check-in and at the airport the moved me and the dw to random seats. The agent was from the airport not from the company and she said that a younger baby was assigned to our seats (it was just a old couple that occupied them during the flight...). We asked for a DL to come and he assigned us the next to seats which were also bassinet.
He did ask me for my boarding pass with the assigned seats but I don't think they are allowed to move people after online check-in.
Google is my friend

Trying to get 2 AZ business class Flights credited to FB and they cannot determine class of service from ticket number or record locator or boarding passes. I cannot get AZ to respond to my multiple requests via twitter, call center or email. Anyone have any ideas on how I can get this done?

Ask a TA if they can access the ticket.

arriving at ZRH at 9.40 am with  DL and checked luggage. separate flight out of ZRH to TLV. 65 minutes in between.
is there enough time to collect luggage and still make it to the next flight ? Outbound is either OS via VIE  pr Pegasus via SAW.

TIA

yes it does happen often.

However, they may make changes at gate to prevent a young child from sitting without an adult.

Can't find it but I'm sure it's somewhere... If I have chase United card and I book for someone else, any way to get extra free bag for them? Make them an additional cardholder..?

Not sure if this is the correct place to ask, but I figured someone would steer me in the correct direction....

I have a wedding in Israel the Thursday night before Purim. My impression is that leaving the US on Wednesday would be pushing my luck - is that right? (Flying out of NY). I would prefer to leave Israel on Saturday night, but debating staying for purim - what is a bigger factor in my ticket cost - length of stay or the day of week I leave? Will it be significantly cheaper to leave on Tuesday night?
