UA 24 hour cancellation on revenue tickets if 1 week or more enforced, or they let you cancel even a few days out as long as within the 24 hours?
TY!

Certainly not on basic economy.

Not enforced, unless things changed recently.

I'm booking a flight for myself and child, but on separate accounts, so the child's ticket is technically being booked alone (although I will be on the flight right next to her).

How can I get around the system identifying her as an unaccompanied minor?

I recall Dan saying on a few posts that a child's birthdate on the ticket doesn't matter, so I can just say that she's a teenager or older. Is that so, and still the case?

Thanks.

Originally booked on AA 53 tonight (Thursday) TLV-MIA in Y using AA miles. Received notice this morning that flight is cancelled and I’ve been rescheduled to AA TLV-MIA on Friday night. I found J space on TK Saturday night instead and will stay a night on Hilton points tonight. What is the process for claiming compensation (statutory and meals and accommodations) from AA. Must I do so prior to processing the cancellation and award redeposit? Is comp certain enough that it would make sense to take a paid hotel stay over an award stay? Does it matter that the award ticket is fully refundable in any event?

i think dan has suggested in  the past to make the birthdate 100 years older

If cancellation is due to weather, so you may get nothing. Also, if you cancel the ticket that may also affect your ability to claim anything. Why not ask AA to rebook you to Motzei Shabbos?
Anyone know what’s going on with these flights? Yesterday’s MIA-TLV arrived on time, they had a special flight AA9600 from TLV-MIA that departed today at 1pm, and AA9602 departing TLV to MIA tomorrow at 6pm, besides the regular AA53

thanks. Just odd that they seemed to have no problem getting the flight out of MiA here, but can’t turn it around sooner. Storm did not hit Miami and in any event had passed. At this point, I was able to get AA 53 on Saturday night…but will still take TK in J, having booked it for 47K TK vs. 40k AA for Y

i think the idea is to keep most of the birthdate the same. so instead of 1/1/2017 it would be 1/1/1917. both are 1/1/17

I prefer using the first year that makes the kid over 18.  But keep the month and date the same for simplicity's sake.

Agree. That’s why I initially thought it’s because of the hurricane, but then saw the other flights on schedule so I got the sense it may be something else.

And you've done this recently and it's worked?

Looking to book a TK award ticket on UA metal. Will I have my UA silver premier status on this booking?

If I'm anticipating a missed connection and an overnight hotel stay, which credit card will give me the best coverage?

My better cards are:
Amex Gold
CSP
Chase United Quest
Cap1 VentureX

Thanks

I've had good luck using my CSR for travel insurance benefits. IIRC CSR and CSP have the same delay benefit if it's an overnight delay

Thank you.

That's what I ended up going with.

I think venture X seems a little better but I couldn't find my card and I'm not sure how easy they are to deal with.
